IC6 Business Diploma students win three categories of the Islington Schools’ Enterprise Challenge!
As part of the Global Entrepreneurship week 2009, the Islington EBP, in collaboration with the Islington Business Partnership, offered young people an opportunity to develop their enterprise and entrepreneurial skills by signing up to the Islington Schools’ Enterprise Challenge.
Teams of young entrepreneurs were given a taste of business with up to £100 "seed funding" for their money-making ideas.
IC6 Year 12 students taking the Marketing and Sales Business Diploma unit taught by Mr Miah based at Central Foundation Boys’ School, came up with the winning money-making idea of selling alcohol-free designer perfumes with a focus on selling to the general public at White Cross Market.
The Challenge Final was held on Wednesday 10th February 2010 at the Islington Assembly Hall. Of the seven categories in the Challenge, IC6 students were winners of Best Business Sense, Best Marketing and Most Profit categories and runners up of the Best Teamwork and Best Report categories.
The Challenge Final judges recognised the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of the winning IC6 Business Diploma students Lina Arbouhat, Ebrima Njie, Daniel Stride, Saleh Tarafdar, Zino Tshilumba and Daniel Cartwright who were excited to receive their award from the Mayor of Islington, Councillor Anna Berent.
