St. Aloysius' College celebrates first year as part of IC6
10/06/11
St Aloysius’ College first year as part of IC6 has proved to be a great success.
Since joining IC6 in September 2010 sixth form teaching at St Aloysius got off to an excellent start with a positive set of Year 12 AS results.
Elena Holmes, Assistant Headteacher at St Aloysius, says the positive feedback from Year 12 students and parents has been extremely encouraging with students enjoying their learning experience and parents happy to know that their sons/daughters are learning in a safe and caring environment confident of academic achievement.
News of the sixth form success has travelled fast and demand for places from Year 11 St Aloysius students is high with well over 100 expected to enrol with IC6 this September making over 160 students in the sixth form.
The growth in numbers will be matched by an expansion of Vocational and A Level courses on offer at St Aloysius in September 2011 to over 20 A Level courses and the consolidation of the hugely popular BTEC Level 3 course in Sports Coaching and Development in conjunction with Arsenal Football Club.
"I spent 5 years at St Aloysius, from year 7 until year 11 and I have entered the 6th form with an open and mature mind-set. The skills I have learnt at IC6 have set me up for later life. I would recommend IC6 to any person who wants to mature and achieve grades that they deserve."

"I came to IC6 because I knew the teachers were friendly, very motivating who try to make the learning environment as good as possible."

"The teachers encourage you to ask questions and be involved in the lessons. If I was in year 11, I would definitely choose to come to IC6."
