Course Outline

The GCSE English course offers students another chance to obtain a GCSE Grade C qualification in English that is widely required by employers and an essential part of the matriculation requirements for higher education. It is also an entry requirement for many AS Level and Level 3 vocational courses at IC6 and elsewhere. Please note, however, that the entrance requirement at IC6 for most AS Level courses is a Grade B in both GCSE English and GCSE English Literature.

Entry Requirements

Grade D in GCSE English. Students without a Grade D may be accommodated subject to the availability of places. Students already with a Grade C will only be accepted onto the course subject to places and only for entrance to the Higher Tier Examination. This is a one year course.
