AS/A2 Philosophy

Course Outline

At AS level students studying Philosophy will be able to explore subjects and topics such as the existence of god and whether or not tolerance should be a central value of society.

At A2 you study classic philosophical texts and explore two important contemporary philosophical themes; the philosophy of the Mind and Moral Philosophy. Philosophy involves the critical examination of arguments and theories in the hope of arriving at reasoned and justified beliefs.

Entry Requirements

6 GCSEs at Grade C or above including Grade B in English and Mathematics.

Assessment

100% examination.

Progression

As Philosophy is a highly regarded A-level subject it is a subject that will give you an edge with universities and will supplement your chosen A-levels on a pathway to study subjects such as Law at university.
