Course Outline

Modern Language A-level provides an insight into another culture and society.

If you want to develop the knowledge and skills acquired at GCSE level in French, Polish, Spanish and /or Turkish and to develop your experience of using these languages outside of school in a wide range of contexts the AS/A2 qualification offers you the enjoyment and motivation of improving your linguistic level.

Course Structure

The AS course covers areas such as the media, popular culture, healthy living and family.

The A2 course covers areas such as the environment, a multi-cultural society and cultural topics such as history and novelists.

Entry Requirements

6 A*-C Grades at GCSE including English as well as a Grade B in the Modern Language selected for A level study.

Assessment

100% examination.

Progression

These qualifications provide an excellent basis for further study within the fields of modern languages and also greatly enhance your employment prospect as well as facilitating foreign travel.
